- Answer a few brief questions to get you started.
- What has changed from the time it was working properly, to now? Why?
It is possible that after changes in the home were made, the satellite system was not reconnected properly. If the problem started after the change in your home was made, you can correct the issue before troubleshooting. Some common changes are:
- Furniture was rearranged in the home. If your equipment was disconnected, verify all connections are correct.
- New flooring was installed. If your equipment was disconnected, verify all connections are correct.
- A new roof was installed and the dish was disconnected. Even if the dish was installed in the same location, it is possible that it may be out of alignment and a technician may be required to correct the issue.
- How long has the issue been happening? Why?
This will help determine if any changes caused the issue. After you determine when the issue started, you can begin troubleshooting. Some common causes are:
- Ever since the thunderstorm. It is possible you are experiencing rain fade during a storm or the dish may be out of alignment if there were strong winds. Your satellite system should function normally after the storm has passed.
- Ever since a game machine was connected. Equipment may not be connected properly. Recheck all cable connections and the input selections.
- Ever since the landscapers were here. It is possible that the lawn mower could have cut the cable for your satellite system.

You can find the receiver model number by:
- Pressing the Sys Info or System Info button once on the remote
- Pressing the Sys Info or System Info button on the receiver front panel
- The label on the back panel or bottom of the receiver
- Once there, select the on-screen message or issue that you need assistance with.
